Northbound State Route 51 lane restrictions planned nightly July 7-10
Northbound SR 51 scheduled to be closed from I-10 to Colter Street this weekend (July 10-13)
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises Phoenix area drivers to plan for northbound State Route 51 to be narrowed to one lane between Indian School and Bethany Home roads nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Tuesday, July 7, and ending Friday morning, July 10, for diamond grinding work as part of the State Route 51 pavement rehabilitation project between Interstate 10 (Papago Freeway) and Shea Boulevard.
Upcoming Closures
Northbound SR 51 is scheduled to be CLOSED from I-10 to Colter Street (north of Camelback Road) from 9 p.m. Friday, July 10, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 13.
NOTE: The currently uneven pavement conditions and asphalt remaining on SR 51 bridge decks are a temporary result of the required asphalt removal work completed the weekend of May 8-11. This is NOT the finished surface of the freeway. The remaining asphalt will be removed during upcoming bridge work. The freeway and ramps will be resurfaced to create a smooth driving surface using a treatment called diamond grinding. ADOT appreciates your patience as the project progresses over the next several months.
ADOT advises drivers to use caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.

Old Crescent Hotel to Be Apartments!
Every time I pass Dunlap and the I-17, it makes me sad to see the beautiful old trees dying and the disrepair of the old Crescent Hotel. The news is that it will be converted to a residential development. Plans are in place to build 258 apartment units, ranging from studio to two-bedroom living spaces.
They say, “there will be and emphasis on attainable luxury, the development will offer high quality amenities at an accessible price points. The property will be renamed to The Crescent and will be an important factor to the housing situation as the Metro District continues to develop.”
